Sustainable project management
A sustainable project recognises that it has the potential to deliver social and environmental – as well as financial – benefits. It also recognises that it has the potential to make a negative impact in these areas and seeks to minimise or mitigate this. The principles, skills and techniques that make up project management provide an ideal framework for embedding all aspects of sustainability into project management practices. But educational programmes need to be carefully designed to ensure that this integration is successful.

Sustainable course development
We design project management education programmes for employers, training providers, universities and FE colleges. Our accredited programmes cover the most sought after project management qualifications in the UK, including the APM’s Project Management Qualification (PMQ), PRINCE2 and PRINCE2 Agile. At the start of 2021 we took the decision to incorporate the key elements of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals into all of our programmes. We do this using real world case studies and simulations developed with industry experts to allow students to apply the core project management skills to sustainable ways of working.

Project simulations
Passive learning methods such as lectures and slide presentations are not always the most effective methods for developing complex skills. These can best be developed by allowing people to make decisions – and then experience the consequences of those decisions in a safe environment. Our project simulations provide a highly engaging way of learning.
We are proud to work in partnership with Prendo Simulations. Their pioneering project simulations model the ambiguous nature of many of the challenges project managers face, including complex and unpredictable human dynamics.
